How leaders can deploy a sports diplomat’s playbook

Target Audience: Business industry leaders and internal team managers

Sports diplomats are among the world’s ultimate communicators as they engage in sports diplomacy–the communication, representation, and negotiation that occurs in/around the field of play. To do so, sports diplomats invest in people as they engage in cultural, technical, and/or knowledge exchanges in pursuit of their goals. Thus sports diplomats can make significant contributions through the art of engagement.

Leaders from any industry can deploy a sports diplomat’s playbook to be more effective global communicators, up-level their abilities to influence and persuade, and build in-person, virtual, and hybrid teams for the ultimate ‘win.’

In this workshop, Dr. Krasnoff will:

  • Unpack what being a sports diplomat means and entails, and how their ability to influence, persuade, and lead is honed by their mission to communicate, negotiate and represent to a variety of audiences

  • Drill down on how the traits and skills required for sports diplomats translate to business leaders and internal team managers to enrich leadership efforts

  • Detail best practices and considerations in how to foster connections, networks, and community, including,

    • How leaders can constructively engage while learning about other cultures, technicalities, knowledge sets and experiences – how an investment in people can benefit your team for the ‘win’

    • How leaders can talk about themselves, where they come from, how they represent, and how they can compete while still building bonds with others

    • How leaders can effectively communicate with certain teammates, partners, or audiences to build mutually beneficial relationships–and how doing so can help enhance platforms and storytelling with target internal and external audiences
